Why end grain!?

Not only does it look cool, it performs great! End grain is a style of positioning wood in cutting boards where the gain is facing up which allows it to "self heal" when cut by a knife. Think of it like running your fingers through a paint brush and watching the bristles go back to normal. This helps extend the life of the board for years to come. 

Just so you know...

Each chopping block at CCB is constructed by hand and uses FDA approved, food safe glue and is coated multiple times with food grade mineral oil to prevent drying out. 

Maintenance

To extend the life of your chopping block it is recommended to wash with warm water and a mild dish detergent and apply a coat of mineral oil to prevent any cracking. Never wash your chopping block in a dishwasher or let it sit/soak in water.
